About

We’re two young professionals living, working and having fun in Milwaukee. We love to write about fashion, food and pop culture in general. Check out our snarky bios below. (We also have guest columnists from time to time, so check out their bios as we add them).

Ask Katie what’s for dinner, and she’ll probably tell you she hasn’t ordered it yet. It’s this exact attitude that makes her somewhat domestically inept…but perfect for parties. In a world chock full of endless possibilities and intercardinal directions, Katie’s spent most of her 20s walking a most unusual tightrope between marketing executive and first grade teacher. However, the overpriced shoe collection that’s emerged from years of retail therapy makes her feet look fabulous on either side of the line.  An irreverent sense of humor, questionable driving habits and lack of discretion in most social situations have landed Katie in quite a few scrapes over the past quarter century—but she’d like to think she’s handled each and every one with the same wit, charm and sheer unadulterated panic as her TV hero, Rachel Karen Green.
Lavilla is a semi-recent college grad toying with adulthood. She has blonde hair, a big mouth and a weakness for all things chocolate. A self-described snob about everything cultural, she‘ll tell you her opinion (solicited or not) about books, movies, tv shows, food, music, politics and art. A modern Renaissance woman, she works for a healthcare consulting company, but has a background in politics, journalism and the non-profit sector. She knows her way around the kitchen and can make a mean non-dairy quiche, but don’t call her domestic. She sometimes wonders if she should have been born in the 1950s — for the fashion, not the sexist gender roles, of course. Her life goals include watching every Coen brothers movie, remembering her MSN messenger password from middle school and finally using an entire bottle of tahini before it expires.
